Land Purchased by Braemar Village

10 June 2008

Nelson College has received $750,000 for a 4.7ha block of land at the foot of the Grampians, but a man involved with the group that bought the land is keeping quiet on what it might now be used for. Nelson College Trust Foundation chairman John Towns said settlement was due in September. The money from the sale would be put into an endowment fund and invested by the college trust. The land had been surplus to the college’s requirements, Mr Towns said. Nelson arts organiser and environment campaigner Kim Merry confirmed he was involved with a group called Braemar Village which had bought the land but refused to comment further on what it might be used for. - Nelson Mail (pg.2 11 June 2008)
